The local leader of the NHS in South Gloucestershire has made a new appointment to its Governing Body.
Janet Biard is the new Practice Manager Representative on the Governing Body of NHS South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) – which plans, buys and monitors local healthcare services.
Mrs Biard is the Practice Manager at Courtside Surgery, Yate, and has spent most of her career as a finance manager in NHS organisations.
She said: “I am delighted to be joining the Governing Body at South Gloucestershire CCG, which has achieved a great deal in its first year.
“Its Board members are dedicated and enthusiastic, with a clear sense of what they are trying to achieve – and that attracted me to the role.
“The ultimate success of clinical commissioning groups will rely on the continued commitment of member GP practices working through them to secure improvements in health care for the local population.”
Dr Jonathan Hayes, Chairman of South Gloucestershire CCG, said: “We are delighted that Janet has joined our Governing Body – throughout her career, she has shown passion and commitment to the NHS and its values.”
Mrs Biard was appointed to her new role on 1 June and will serve a three-year term.
