NHS Continuing Healthcare Redress Guidance for CCGs

Date: 11 Feb 2015

Category: Get involved

NHS England is inviting feedback on its refreshed NHS Continuing Healthcare (NHS CHC) Redress Guidance for CCGs, to be used when considering NHS CHC redress payments for individuals.

The guidance has been updated to reflect the ‘Principles for Remedy’ from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) for all public bodies. The guidance retains the principle of returning the individual to the financial position they would have been in had they been assessed as eligible and the need for redress identified.

Once introduced, CCGs will continue to consider the specific circumstances of individual cases, as they do now, to ensure that all individuals are returned to the financial position they should have been in, if redress is considered appropriate.

NHS England welcomes any feedback on the Guidance by Thursday 19 March 2015.
